The USS Arizona #2

A 36 foot floating replica of the USS Arizona is currently being built by Sean Peters in Bend, Oregon.  This will not be just a model, but a replica that will sail under it's own power, complete with firing main batteries and black powder for visual effects.  Mr. Peters is planning to have the USS Arizona #2 completed by Memorial Day 2002. "I wanted to do something other than simply stick a small flag in the ground and call it remembering," states Mr. Peters.  "I am trying to gather as much information about the ship as possible." "This version of the Arizona will be the largest, I believe, in the country.  The only other I found was built as a prop for the movie, 'Pearl Harbor' ".
