Garrett J. O'Keefe US Navy USS Tennessee

Garrett J. O'Keefe was stationed aboard the USS Tennessee on that Sunday morning.  He was ashore and when he heard the order to return, he began to run toward his ship.  Of course the bombing was taking place.  He had a fellow sailor running beside him and the man asked Garrett what he was doing.  Garrett's reply was:  "I am praying".  His companion said, "I don't know how, would you mind praying outloud?" That is how Garrett and his companion returned to the Tennessee that day.
