I lost my wonderful brave husband eight years ago. He was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He was on the USS St. Louis. Tom would have been 82. He joined the Navy at the age of 17 from Mobile, Alabama. After the War in Honolulu he was sent to officer training school and later became an Ensign and a Naval Aviator. He retired as a Lt. Commander from Sandia Base, Albuquerque in 1964. While flying he also attended UC Berkeley and received his degree in business from the University of New Mexico. I am so proud of him. We have one son, Randy who graduated from Cal Poly here in San Luis. He is a ranger and has 3 beautiful little girls. Information provided by LaVern Hawkinson |
